Coffee Artists is a part of the British based Coffee Arts and Media company which also specialises in independent film (Coffee Films) and design and viral marketing (Coffee Design).

Our film company was established in 1996 and mixed regularly with independent musicians and DJs, the idea of an agency came about through most of them expressing how dissatisfied they were with their agents; there was a complete lack of trust or relationship on any level and it was impossible to break into the rosters of the top companies.

We have always seen relationships with talent as our greatest asset; it's an impossibility to compete with modern media conglomerates on almost any other level. With several members of the team already bringing management, musician and agency experience with them we established Coffee Artists in a classic agency role as a service provider to the artist rather than to itself, and decided to keep rosters small in favour of closely focused and trust based relationships.

Launching with a purely DJ roster in 2003, we quickly expanded to include live musicians and proved popular with emerging independent artists from the USA interested in the British market. We built a good reputation for talent spotting and building workable international tours for some of the most outstanding artists on the US indie scene.

As the tours continued to get bigger and word began to spread to West Coast bands we also found that artists were increasingly looking for extra support. A range of publicity and management services tied in with Coffee Films and Coffee Design slowly grew into a complete publicity roster around the same time as the DJs evolved into a growing roster of music producers.

Today we continue to grow and diversify with our artists, expanding most recently into the film industry our parent company already understands intimately with some of Europe's most exciting emerging talents. We look forward to continuing to build one of the most talented and diverse rosters in the industry, and continuing to be the company many of our clients have termed "the ones that actually do what they say they will".

People

Gelli Graham, Head of Artists

Gelli Graham heads up the agency and focuses on agency bookings and traditional media publicity. A career salesperson across a multitude of industries Gelli's key prior experience was as senior agent and general manager at the Phuture Promotions agency in the late 90s and early 2000s, managing and booking a wide roster of high profile DJs to clubs internationally. Today she's a familiar voice to promoters and journalists up and down the country as one of the youngest agency heads in the business.

Steve Piper, Artist Management (music)

Steve Piper focuses on artist management and new publicity techniques such as viral marketing. A teenage musician and band manager he is also an award winning filmmaker and designer working with our sister companies, and spent five years managing UK marketing campaigns for an array of blue chip multinational clients. Today Steve heads up the Coffee Arts and Media company and manages a wide range of support services for artists ranging from documentary film shoots to Myspace marketing.

Vanda Rapti, Artist Management (film)

Vanda Rapti focuses on many of our film interests such as actor representation and contractual agreements for the whole company. A classically trained musician and accomplished feature film actress and television presenter in her native Greece, Vanda is also a practicing media lawyer in the European broadcast industry bringing a detailed knowledge of all facets of the industry.

Baron, security

Baron looks after the company's security requirements. A Japanese Akita weighing in at just over 140lb with a 28 inch neck, Baron's key experience comes from many centuries of selective breeding to create a really big wolf that hunts bears and other big game in the mountains of Japan. Today Baron is somewhat oppressed by the agile and cunning Coffee Films' cats and is looking forward to someone breaking in so that he can let off some steam.

Charities

We directly support the work of the Born Free Foundation through adoption of a pack of endangered Ethiopian wolves; our money helps pay for innoculations and other healthcare for the pack.

Other charities are supported through our higher profile acts, most recently we put together Trik Turner with The Jason Foundation, Jake Stigers and the Velvet Roots with Children in Need and TGK with ChildLine, The Teenage Cancer Trust and Demelza House Children's Hospice.
